Are you in the query trenches, or about to go there? From researching who to query to working in a literary agency, our panelists will share their unique insights. Panel discussion will include Ann Rose, agent with the Prospect Agency, Ariane Felix, intern for agent Victoria Selvaggio from Storm Literary Agency and Rebekah Manley, a writer who recently signed with Natalie Lakosil of Bradford Literary Agency. Ann Rose is also a debut author, her YA novel, Road to Eugenica, was published earlier this year.
After the meeting, Law Professor and Author Jacqui Lipton (who you may recognize from our 2017 Austin SCBWI conference) will be chatting about trademark issues involving book titles in the BookPeople cafe. Jacqui has authored several books on commercial and intellectual property law as well as regular columns on the law of the publishing industry for the SCBWI Bulletin, Luna Station Quarterly, and Savvy Authors, and will talk about the difference between trademark and copyright, as well as answer general questions on the topic.
The monthly meeting will be immediately followed by an Open Critique Group for SCBWI members.
