Join us as Mark Mitchell provides insight into color, one of the primary tools in the illustrator’s toolbox. Together we’ll explore color palettes—how to apply them, in what circumstances, and the theory behind their usage in composition.
In addition to being an accomplished illustrator of books and magazines, Mark teaches classes in watercolor and children’s book illustration at The Contemporary Austin Art School in Austin, Texas. He also offers an online course, Make Your Marks and Splashes: A Natural Approach to Children’s Book Illustration. He is the creator and moderator of howtobeachildrensbookillustrator.com. (He is also an former Illustrator Coordinator for our Austin chapter!)
The monthly meeting will be immediately followed by an Open Critique Group for SCBWI members.
