Véronique Lefèvre Sweet, Associate Art Director
Véronique Lefèvre Sweet is Associate Art Director in the picture book team at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. She was born and raised in France, and has been working in publishing in New York City for nearly 16 years. She has art directed and designed a large variety of books from fiction to non-fiction picture books, chapter books, and middle grade, and has been fortunate to work with talented authors and artists including John Rocco, Tom Lichtenheld, Obert Skye, David McPhail, and Zachariah Ohora, among others. She loves collaborating with artists, and discovering new talent.

What attracted you to children’s books?
I’ve always loved books, and children’s books in particular because of the way they combine art, visual storytelling, and strong emotions.
What’s the best part of your job?
Discovering new talents, and collaborating with artists.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Finding the time in a busy schedule to balance day to day tasks with stepping back and enjoying the books
What’s the best piece of advice you were given that helped drive your career?
Do not take criticism personally, be grateful for it as it is a chance to grow.
