Austin SCBWI Member Noah Weisz Wins SCBWI Magazine Merit Award

Congratulations to our own Noah Weisz, who was recently awarded a Magazine Merit Award in the fiction category for his short story, “A Forest Full of Stars,” which appeared in the July 2018 issue of Highlights.

Noah Weisz has been part of Austin SCBWI since he moved to Austin to pursue his M.F.A. in Fiction with the New Writers Project at UT.

He is a past winner of the F(r)iction Short Story Contest and the Austin SCBWI Creators of Diverse Worlds scholarship, and he most recently had two middle-grade manuscripts shortlisted for the 2019 Bath Children’s Novel Award. His writing has been published in Highlights, Hunger Mountain, Lunch Ticket, Cosmonauts Avenue, and elsewhere. Currently, he teaches middle-school English during the school year and creative writing at St. Edward’s University during the summers.

He is really grateful for all of Austin SCBWI’s support and community over the years! You can find him at https://noahweisz.wordpress.com.
