What attracted you to children’s books?
I think the stories we remember most are the ones we discovered as kids. During those middle grade years we’re figuring out who we’re going to be, and books can help us navigate some of the tough things we come up against.
What’s the best part of your job?
Getting to hear from readers who’ve made a connection to the book.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Managing my time so I’m making enough progress on the draft.
What’s the best piece of advice you were given that helped drive your career?
Write a story you wish you could have read as a kid.
