What attracted you to children’s books?

The access to other worlds that it gives you!

What’s the best part of your job?

When a reader laughs at something I wrote.

What’s the most challenging part of your job?

Trusting that I can turn a skeletal first draft into a fleshed-out masterpiece like Michelangelo’s David…or at the very least something resembling a voodoo doll.

What’s the best piece of advice you were given that helped drive your career?

HAVE PATIENCE.
