Congratulations to the winners of our 2019 Diverse Worlds Scholarship! The contest was judged by agents Stefanie Von Borstel of Full Circle Literary and Tanusri Prasanna of Foundry Literary + Media.
The winners are:
Illustration: Reggie Brown (New Friend/First Snow) and Honor: Rebecca Howe (Anna’s Grapeleaves);
Novels: Desiree Evans (Good River Folks) and Honor: Sanjeevi Gunarathna (Moonflower);
Picture Books: Maria Rodriquez (A Song and A Storm) and Honor: (tie) Brenda Panella (Iz the Ukelele Wiz) and Janice Milusich (Neveah’s Wonders).
The winner in each category receives a scholarship for both days of the Writers & Illustrators Working Conference, while the honor winners reach receive a 50 percent discount to either the full conference or the Saturday sessions.
