The Austin SCBWI chapter is known for its vibrant, dedicated and welcoming community of children’s book writers and illustrators. We meet monthly and hold workshops and critique and networking opportunities throughout the year. We also run an annual conference that is packed with inspiration and learning for all levels of creators.
The chapter is led by Regional Advisor Samantha M Clark, Assistant Regional Advisor Lindsay Leslie and Illustrator Coordinator Laura Fisk. Contact us if you have any questions.
We encourage you to come to our meetings and get to know us. The children’s and teen publishing field is very competitive and you can learn a great deal by networking with other writers and illustrators.
Our members range from people thinking about their first book to seasoned professionals with several books in print. We share an enthusiasm for creating quality books for children and young people, as well as a desire to help fellow SCBWI members succeed.
So join SCBWI soon and come to our monthly meetings. We’re looking forward to meeting you! Follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
