Congratulations to Austin SCBWI members Chris Barton and Don Tate! Their book THE AMAZING AGE OF JOHN ROY LYNCH, written by Chris Barton and illustrated by Don Tate, won the Carter G. Woodson Book Award, given to the most distinguished books appropriate for young readers that depict ethnicity in the United States. In addition, Don Tate also won for his book POET: THE REMARKABLE STORY OF GEORGE MOSES HORTON, which he both wrote and illustrated. This award is presented from the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS). We are so proud of this dynamic duo and all they have accomplished!
